My  true colors  by E.M. 

 

 Pondering   the existence of  color  I wondered  is it  not merely an illusion?

An abstract perception which belongs to the world of  conceived ideas.

The simple  result  of   the  daily  atavistic exercise  to identify, define,

describe and classify all  that we see around us.  

 

Color is  a kind of  visual sport  enjoyed  by many,   a pleasant    routine often

 tiresome and boring  and yet  at other times liberating and exciting,   intriguing , transgressive and violent. 

For me it is an existential  game where all that is perceived  becomes elaborated in a complex  and evolving mechanism.

 The world   around me, the  sounds, tastes,    fragrances, sentiments, reason, sensations, emotions are all absorbed in a   wanton and    never ending orgy  of  pursuing,  simplifying,    touching  and  caressing;   everything is slowly digested and  subconsciously  transformed  to  give    a different consistency   and then to be relocated   in   some undefined  timeless  void .

 

This is where the human flesh and   ideas meet and clash to regenerate a new living matter

which   finds its way onto my pallet ,  my paint rollers and  my brushes  to  inspire    designs full of color  for  my canvas  and  the articulated fields of my sculptures, living concepts  of all that I produce.

 

My art not only reflects this  personal and abstract idea of color  but also serves to give   a perception of myself   and my   different view  of the colors of life.

“Folate Iridescenti”  initially  held at Villa Doria d’Angri a Napoli   now takes place at the Stables Gallery Orleans House in London is the fruit of these ideas.

 

“Folate Iridescente” is a  voyage through the world of today’s art,    emphasizing  the vital, dynamic and intrinsic aspects of contemporaniety  and multi-mediality. It is a journey that passes through the different awareness of cultures both  close  and distant and  which yearns to rediscover  ones  own individuality in  an encounter with  the stranger,  foreign  yet so very fraternal.

This is  neo-communication, no longer virtual but      encoded and informaticised.  Here is   tangible   sharing,  the materialization of images, fragments of memory, breaths of emotion  and  brush strokes of sensations.  So many artists from    various  geographical and  cultural backgrounds continuously describing their    community     with a    distinctive narrative,   specific sensitivity and expressive ability.

It is the  combination  of single  experiences  lived  here and now  and   there and then;  artistic representation of actual time, which like a fleeting breath of wind,   a  folate Iridescente, is already   a  long faded memory  and   an insight  into   future  knowledge.

 

The   “Folate Iridescente”  are fragments of individuality fulfilled  but not saturated,    awoken and displayed as  imaginative stories.  They unravel  the   anonymous the  bizarre and the provocative, as in a dreamlike diversion an  unconscious  concentration of lightly sketched  descriptions , whispered words  and profoundly sighed emotions .

 

“Folate Iridescente”  is an experience of transit   through experience, of space as movement and no longer  place,  of the individual in essence   separate from the group: artistic-cultural nomadism which nurtures and feeds itself on      personally  arranged encounters,  moments of creativity and  observation  of   exchange and  consciousness.
